I provide instruction, assistance, and tutoring to all levels of Electric Bass Guitar and Music Theory. I can also teach entry level guitar as well.
I believe that that essence of music education should be fun, entertaining, and thought provoking, while at the same time providing a positive and charming atmosphere for the student to learn in, which invokes strong and efficient learning ability. Discussion and questions are always welcome, and I always work at the pace of the student,
It's my job as a teacher to have the tools to help enhance and nurture a student's musical ability in their chosen area of interest(s), not oppress a concrete template method for all students without accommodation to learning patterns or tendencies of the student.
My lessons are set up to accommodate a student's skill level and learning. I adjust my curriculum to support the student's interests and goals to help them grow and further their abilities in music practice, and theory simultaneously.
--Studio--
The studio is a quiet, large room with access to a piano, and music literature for reference and study. Bass amplification is provided if need be. STUDENT MUST HAVE THEIR OWN INSTRUMENT.
--My Professional Background--
I have been a professional bass player for 8 years, and have been playing for 16 years.
I started out self taught as a bassist and guitarist playing heavier styles of music such as heavy metal and alternative rock when I was young. I eventually grew to adapt to more increasingly informative, and positive styles of music such as Funk, Jazz, and Latin/World music in pursuit of absolute proficiency on the electric bass guitar, and in music in general.
Currently, I can read and write music fluently, and have played in many Jazz Ensembles, Combos, Rock/Metal Bands, Cover Bands, Jam Bands, and the like over the last ten years as a bassist and backup singer. I have also arranged music for Jazz Big Band, and composed music for Solo Piano, Trio, String Quartet, and Choir in Classical method.
