Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I have been playing organ/piano since the age of 4. My early years focused on theater organ and electronic organ playing. I won a national competition sponsored by The American Theater Organ Society for young artists at the age of 16. The same year I was also a Regional Finalist in the Yamaha Electone Keyboard Festival. In college I began to focus on the piano and studied music performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston and Indiana University. I can teach any style of music, however, my specialty is in contemporary styles such as rock, pop, fusion, and electronic. I have a professional grade studio in my home in Grand Blanc, Michigan, consisting of an acoustic upright piano, several synthesizers and keyboards, and a full size electronic organ. I have many years of live performance experience as a soloist and in bands. I am also well seasoned in recording techniques and have the ability to record student performances. In addition, I am very experienced with MIDI, computer music, and several software DAWs on the market. I am particularly strong in the use of Logic Pro X and MainStage. I prefer to allow students the flexibility to work on material they are interested in and will enjoy practicing. We will work together to find appropriate materials that will keep the music challenging and exciting.
