Originally from Washington, I started taking piano lessons in second grade. In high school, my piano teacher suggested that I start teaching piano lessons, and after the first couple lessons with my first student, I found that I loved teaching! Watching a student grow and improve is one of the most rewarding experiences a teacher can have in life. I am a classically trained pianist with a bachelors degree in music and I'm currently pursuing my masters. I have five years of teaching experience with students ranging from young children to adults. I'm patient and laid back and I believe that learning should be enjoyable. I'm flexible with my teaching style. Each student learns differently and I like to try to teach based on how the student learns best. *** Lesson Details *** Lessons are designed to help students reach their goals. I like to find a balance of teaching proper technique and music theory during lessons. In addition to this, students work on a piece or pieces that is more properly suited for a recital or they work on a larger project that is directly related to their personal goals. *** Specialties *** I like to find a balance between teaching technique, and teaching musical understanding.
