Lesson Details

Within the lesson, the student can expect to be taught the fundamentals of proper technique, which provides the foundation that everything will be based upon. This will include scales, arpeggios, various left and right hand exercises, sight reading, as well as playing by ear. Nathan will ask what the student’s favorite type of music is, as well as what the student wants to learn. Songs and exercises will be chosen from the particular method(s) that Nathan feels is best for the student, songs ... or pieces that the student wants to learn, as well as popular songs that have a certain technical or musical value.

Nathan enjoys teaching on all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced players at all ages.

He is laid back but thorough, and enjoys teaching students to make music. He
teaches a variety of genres, from classical, to rock and pop, flamenco,
accompaniment to songwriting, and also theory and composition. Nathan's
approach to teaching is to tailor a lesson plan according to the student's
goals and desires, while opening them up to new possibilities by exploring a
variety of musical styles.

About

Nathan has taught privately and at schools for the last ten years, including being the head of the guitar department at Southeastern University in Central Florida teaching classical, commercial, beginning jazz guitar, and guitar ensemble. He has also owned and directed a music academy in Central Florida.
