I am a classically trained musician who has also spent a lifetime teaching and playing classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary Christian (CCM) styles of music on piano, clarinet and saxophone. My education includes a Master of Music degree from New England Conservatory (with distinction in performing), Bachelor of Music degree from Boston Conservatory of Music, and more than three decades of teaching and performing experience as soloist, ensemble musician and accompanist. My students have placed in top seats at district, regional, state and national competitions, been finalists and prize winners of prestigious young artist competitions, and have been accepted to numerous performing arts colleges and universities. *** Lesson Details *** New students are required to learn how to read music and understand basic chord and scale theory. From there, some pursue studies in classical literature, while others learn jazz or pop styles. I encourage all my students to practice the materials I provide, but also request that they bring in the music they like to play. After all, the purpose of studying and practicing is to be able to PLAY the music you love! Where do you want to go? What do you want to do? Let me help you get there through music! *** Studio Equipment *** Kawai RX Series grand piano, Yamaha XS8 keyboard, Kurzweil PC2x keyboard, Buffet clarinets. Apple computer, iPad and speaker system for track playback. Recording equipment, studio mice and software to produce audition CD's or MP3's. *** Specialties *** I teach classical, jazz, pop and contemporary Christian styles of music. All students learn how to read sheet music as well as chord changes.
