    About Molly O.

I graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a bachelor’s degree in Theater Education. At Emerson, I studied the history of theater, directing, acting, developmental psychology and the foundations of education. As part of my training, I worked as a student teacher at Wellesley Public High School. There I created a curriculum based on the art of clowning, teaching freshmen classes how to improvise, create characters, and gain confidence as actors. In this position, the Head of Drama, Stephen Wrobleski, gave me the opportunity to guest-teach several classes on Shakespeare to junior students. Additionally, I was a teaching assistant for Emerson’s Pre-College Acting Program, where I worked one-on-one with students on Shakespearean texts. Many of those students used their monologues to gain acceptance into prestigious colleges. For the program, I also had the opportunity to lead a four-hour master class on Tony Kushner’s play Angels in America. I have the ability to coach students on a wide range of monologues, be it from modern comedies to Shakespeare dramas. I have a specific expertise in the work of Shakespeare, and can coach students on on ANY Shakespeare scene or monologue that they wish to work on. I have studied the works of Meisner, Stanislavski, Strasberg and Adler, and can coach students under any of these methods. I am also very comfortable with group work, and can work with students on scenes or larger projects. I have worked extensively under a professor from the Boston Conservatory of Music, and am therefore proficient in teaching voice, speech and movement. *** Lesson Details *** Please feel free to contact me for access to any specific lesson plans based on subject, playwright or genre. *** Specialties *** Shakespeare, Voice, Speech, Movement
