Bachelors in Viola Performance
About Miriam L.
I am currently studying with Lila Brown at the Boston Conservatory, and am expected to graduate in May of 2015 with a Bachelors' Degree in Viola Performance. I am self-employed and have been teaching private lessons to students between the ages of 6 to 12 from the beginning of her Sophomore year to this day.
I began studying the violin at the age of 6 with Dubravka Sajfar Moshfegh at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. I went on a Europe tour in the summer of 2011, as a member of the viola section in the NEC Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and have performed in Vienna’s Musikverein, Dvořák Hall in the Rudolfinum (The Honor Mahler Centennial) in Prague, and participated in the Litomysl Smetana Festival, Bratislava Summer Festival (The Hall of Slovak Radio), Jihlava Mahler Festival, and The Krems an der Donau in Lower Austria.
In the past, I have studied with members of the Arianna String Quartet in the Advanced String Quartet Program at the Interlochen Center For the Arts in Michigan, in the summer of 2009. And have also worked with members of The Muir String Quartet as well as Boston Symphony Orchestra, at the Intensive String Quartet program offered through the Boston University Tanglewood Institute at Tanglewood, in the summer of 2010. I then studied the viola with Michael Zaretsky during my senior year at the NEC Preparatory School.
