Meet the ministerial needs of the church's instrumental ministry. This includes the daily contact of members the instrumental music ministry. I prepare the orchestra and jazz band for weekly and other performance related events through a systematic weekly rehearsal schedule. I write and arrange instrumental songs for the orchestra to play during weekly services.I assist the Minister of Music in the musical planning portion of our weekly service.

Instrumental Music Minister

I have thirty years teaching private lessons on brass wind instruments. My primary instrument is trumpet of which I have played for forty-three years. I have studied with Dick Steff, Gene Rush, Dr. Jack Cooper, Dr. Kyle Millsap, and Dr. David Spencer.  I have a Bachelor of Music with my concentration in Jazz composition. I have played with the Bar-Kays, Arron Neville, Tierra Cali among others. 

I am currently the Instrumental Music Minister at Westside Baptist Church in Jacksonville FL. I conduct a 30 piece orchestra, play trumpet and compose for the orchestra and for the West Jax Big Band.

I have been playing for 42 years. Teaching private lessons for 30 years. I hold a Bachelors of Music degree in Jazz Composition. I have relocated to Jacksonville FL from Memphis TN in 2014. In Memphis I was employed part time as a Music Associate with Faith Baptist Church and responsible for rehearsing and writing for their orchestra. I also taught privately through their Faith Music Academy. I performed regularly in the Memphis Music Scene. Currently I am full time Minister of Instrumental Music at Westside Baptist Church.
