    About Michael M.

    My teaching experience began even before I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at Bowling Green State University, as I began working with various high school marching bands as a Brass Instructor as soon as I graduated high school. Since then I have accumulated more than two decades of teaching experience with Marching Bands, Jazz Bands, Concert Bands, various small ensembles of all ages, and all areas of classroom music teaching including 13 years as a high school band and choir director. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons are specifically tailored to the goals and needs of the student, including specifically composed and arranged exercises when necessary. The typical lesson includes warm-up exercises, range and endurance drills, technical exercises, sight-reading and a skill-appropriate prepared etude or song. Additionally, the student receives take-home exercises for the following lesson. My teaching philosophy is to stress the fundamentals of tone, breath and music reading, which will allow the student to succeed regardless of their preferred musical style. *** Specialties *** Trumpet - All Levels Brass - Beginning and Intermediate All Band Instruments - Beginner
