Coming back to piano after 30 years is fun. Michael is in-tune to the fact that this is a hobby for me and he also helps me learn again, now in A-G vs Do-Sol as I learned when I was a teenager.

Mike is a fun and encouraging teacher, quick to praise but not afraid to point out mistakes and areas to improve. We've been sailing through our lessons and I can see great improvements in my abilities (though practicing at home definitely helps!). I can warmly recommend Mike as a teacher.

Taking lessons with Mike has been a great experience as a 23-year-old just starting piano. He is incredibly outgoing, friendly, and positive every lesson. I had some previous experience playing another instrument, so he was quick to adapt his teaching style to my needs.
The best thing about working with Mike is that he definitely makes the lessons worthwhile by going beyond the book and diving into theory. It's one thing to memorize the songs and fingering, but another to really understand what's going on.

I really enjoyed my lesson with Mike, he is very laid back but still knows his stuff. He is VERY encouraging and really helped keep me motivated. His knowledge of many different music styles makes him easy to relate to any students preference! Great musician, great teacher, great guy!

Taking piano lessons from Michael has been a truly great experience. He's a very patient and understanding teacher, but he also has a very deep understanding of music theory, and a great ear for catching mistakes. He seems to take an interest in his students, and is great at praising and raising confidence when it's worthy or necessary, and giving constructive feedback on how to improve.
With each lesson, I walk away with something new for the week that I didn't know before, and have made good progress under his direction. I hope to continue taking lessons from him for as long as life allows, as it's difficult to find a music instructor with such a teacher's heart and a genuine desire for his students to grow.

Mike has been extremely helpful in teaching me the fundamentals and dynamics of singing. Having played guitar for years but never attempting to sing, Mike has helped me develop the confidence and step by step approach to growing my vocal ability, within 2 months I was already out playing live open mics and its a lot of fun.
