I have been a teacher and conductor since high school, and am very excited to take on more students through takelessons!. I have studied piano since I was five, and trombone since I was ten. My training in both instruments began in classical music, and I have been a jazz player for many years as well. My music training was always deeply personal--I was lucky to have wonderfully accommodating teachers who adapted their teaching to my learning style, and emphasized musicality above all else. I aim to provide the same combination of skill-building and personal development through my lessons. I will bring my instrument when appropriate (ie not piano). *** Specialties *** I have played classical piano for 18 years, and studied jazz piano for 8 years. I began teaching private students on classical piano in 2005. I have played trombone for 14 years, focusing on jazz for the past 8. I studied music theory throughout my musical training, culminating in my music degree from Princeton University, where I studied songwriting as well.
