As an independent singer-songwriter, I take an unconventional approach to teaching music. I think it's important for students to learn the basics of sight-reading, but mostly I love teaching my students about chords, creating their own songs, and WHY things work. I don't have a traditional education in music, but teach from experience, having released 3 albums, toured the US, & had my songs featured with major television & international publications. So if classical/technical piano is what you are seeking, I am NOT the teacher for you.
