When you take lessons with me, you can expect a positive, relaxed, and open-ended approach. It's important to me to give students a say in their own piano or French horn study. That means I rely on a masterworks method whenever possible, helping students explore music from a variety of genres and periods. I prefer not to work with rigid method books or testing programs, as I think these detract from the creative and exploratory process of becoming a musician. As a long-time private teacher and a teaching credential candidate, I have extensive experience with all ages of students and currently work part-time with special needs students and English learners.
