I have a very extensive background when it comes to music. I learned piano at a very young age and once I started, I was hooked. I learned trombone, harmonica, guitar, and many other instruments. There wasn't anywhere in the world of music I wasn't willing to go! Throughout middle school and high school I took advantage of every opportunity I could. This included, Symphonic band, Jazz band, A Capella choir, Percussion Ensemble, and countless different small groups. When it came time to look at college, I took my commitment to music to an even deeper level. I decided to major in and exclusively study music. I continued in all of the ensembles I had been in and many more ranging from playing with string ensembles to playing in campus rock bands. This experience developed my skills even farther. I took trombone lessons from a world-renown trombone player all four years of college. I also took worship guitar lessons, jazz/blues guitar lessons, piano lessons, and vocal lessons. I also started my adventure in teaching lessons at this time. I taught mainly trombone and guitar throughout my college career. I attained my Music Ministry degree from Northwestern College in 2011. Since then, I've pursued leading worship in church, teaching music in any capacity possible, and recording my own music. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons are very tailored towards my students' needs. I am an incredibly flexible person and have had many experiences with every type of student. I combine what the student wants to learn with the essentials of whatever instrument they are learning. Certain techniques require a more strict, conservative approach, and others can take on a more free approach. But the bottom line is that I do what is necessary to make sure my students are learning the most possible.
