I take my professional training and incorporate my real-world experiences on 4 continents, over 17 years, to give you the best most hands on learning experience I can. I understand that we each have our own ways of learning and I start early on in our lessons forming the best possible track for you. Whether you are a beginner seeking fundamental knowledge of the instrument or theory behind the music or a seasoned pro looking for new approaches, I can help facilitate this. I am laid back but direct and highly efficient with my time. You can expect to learn the history of the instrument and all it various applications in different styles of music found from around the world. You will learn how to navigate your way around the instrument as well as develop strengthening exercises to increase agility and dexterity. Theory, extended technique, recording concepts, and production of parts will be covered thoroughly. I will teach you to think for yourself and to be critical with your part creations whether you are just starting up a garage band, participating in a small jazz combo, performing in a pit orchestra, or touring with a band around the country. I will provide alternative solutions to antiquated teachings and provide you with a very "current" approach to your craft. In addition, music business, production, composition, arranging, and basic piano can also be taught. *** Studio Equipment *** Bergantino Bass Cabinet, Markbass Amplifier, Markbass 4x10 Bass Cab *** Travel Equipment *** Students should provide there own instrument, staff paper, writing utensil, note book, and amplification (when necessary). In my home studio I have amps and keyboards as well as my own upright bass and electric basses. *** Specialties *** I specialize and focus on music business and applying what has been learned to real life applications. I stress learning the fundamentals and history of the instrument to help in facilitating the development of an individual approach. I am very big on teaching how to develop the ability to teach oneself for a lifetime of constant growth and development.
