    Martin has been teaching guitar and music for over 15 years both privately and on public institutions and is currently a faculty member at CUNY's La Guardia Community College in Queens. He is also one of New York'™s active guitarists. As well as leading his own group, he composes, arranges, and collaborates with many prominent figures in the New York musical scene. Martin has performed in the concert halls of Brasil, Argentina, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Peru and Chile, and in the halls and nightclubs of New York, including appearances at the Lincoln Center, Blue Note, 55 Bar, Cornelia Street Cafe (among others) with Alas, PVD &w8th, Lux DeVille, John Robinson, Yellow Frog Souls Band, Avantango, Ana Saeki, Fernando Otero, Juan Lazaro Mendolas Quartet, Gustavo Moretto Quartet, Los Chantas, Three Sad Cats, Zvi Migdal Tango Orchestra, Trio Del Barrio, Cactus Salad Latin Jazz Band and the WPU Jazz Orchestra. Martin is working on his new record coming out soon featuring Martin'™s compositions and arrangements as well as a stellar line up of amazing jazz musicians. The record will be available at this website as well as CD Baby and iTunes. *** Lesson Details *** Whether the work involves how to properly hold the guitar, get a good tone from it, develop harmonic knowledge on the fretboard or expand repertoire, the guitar lessons are designed to put the student on a clear and well structured path to musical growth, while providing a inspirational and friendly environment. The curriculum is tailored to your own needs. It can include musicianship, technique and repertoire, i.e. learn to play your favorite songs, styles of music, as well as learn how to master the instrument and read music. The student can work on improvisation, interpretation, song writing-composition, guitar techniques (strumming, using a pick, finger picking, classical finger style, etc) theory and ear training.
