I am a performer, composer, teacher and art administrator. I hold a doctorate in composition from the University of Kentucky. I have played and performed on the guitar for over 30 years in a variety styles and in a variety of venues. My compositions have been performed internationally and I have received 16 awards from ASCAP. I have taught for over 30 years and though most of my students have not gone on to be professionals some have. I have taught music theory, song writing and composition as well as guitar. I play my songs throughout the Dallas-Forth Worth Area. *** Lesson Details *** I use the Hal Leonard Guitar Method for my beginning steel-string students and the Charles Duncan Classical Guitar Method for beginning classical guitar students. I also use Guitar Rock Guitar for my rock guitar students. I teach in all styles. The point of all of this is to get your fingers in the right place. I strive to make students musically literate so that they can better enjoy playing music. My goal is to get you playing things you want to learn as soon as possible. That, of course, depends on you. As long as you make the effort we can do it. I also teach music theory, song writing and composition. If you are preparing for pre-college exams I can help you.
