I have over 30 years of experience with the guitar and would be happy to share my knowledge with you. Lessons are given in my home studio in a relaxed and casual setting. I instruct basic music theory, guitar playing techniques, and how to properly practice. I also go into guitar setup and maintenance, how to properly care for and get the most out of your instrument. A guitarist should know his guitar....intimately! I will teach you how to properly tune, intonate and service your instrument. Additionally, I like to touch on the intangibles of being a musician and to help any student eventually have the confidence to perform well at a live venue. Playing for an audience is a big part of why many of us picked up the guitar in the first place....we want to perform! I can help you with that too. *** Lesson Details *** I design a lesson plan for each individual student based on their current skill level and what their immediate musical goals are. Usually meeting once a week, the lesson starts with a warm-up and a brief review of the previous lesson before continuing on with further instruction. Sometimes the lesson will go slightly beyond 30 minutes and I do not charge extra for that. I like to take the time to be sure that my teaching is fully understood and that you're not leaving confused and unable to practice the lesson on your own. *** Studio Equipment *** Fairly well equipped instructional studio.
