I am a highly motivated and energetic music teacher since 1990. I graduated from Westfield State College in 1991 with a BA in Music Education with a concentration on Classical Guitar, Choral Directing, and Voice. Since 1997, I've been the Chorus/Orchestra/General Music Teacher for Masconomet Middle School in Topsfield. I've performed at Carnegie Hall twice, once at the NYC Met, and have taught in many music stores in Massachusetts. I'm also a classical composer and many of my compositions are featured on my YouTube channel. The method books I use for teaching are: Piano: Alfred series Guitar: Hal Leonard Both books offer easy steps into learning music because they feature well-known songs the students have heard prior. On my YouTube channel, I have several instructional videos on me playing from these books to help the students online. The greatest reward and thanks I can receive is knowing the students are getting something out of what I'm teaching them. Also the knowledge when they say to me they learned more from me than their last teacher is a huge boost for me!! I always try to meet the expectations of the students by asking about what their goals are for taking the instrument, as well.
