    About Maria R.

    Maria has been performing professionally and teaching flute students for nearly 20 years. She has recently relocated to MA from CA where she held positions with the Peninsula Symphony, Marina del Rey Symphony, Culver City Symphony, Song of the Angels Flute Orchestra and several other groups. She has performed in Disney Hall, premiered new music at the National Flute Association's Flute Conventions, performed solo concertos with various orchestras and won awards and competitions. Maria's own principal teachers have included David Shostac (Principal, LA Chamber Orchestra), Tracy Harris (Yamaha Performing Artist) and Nancy Ayala (Principal, Bakersfield Symphony). She has also had private lessons with Mathieu Dufour (Principal, Berlin Philharmonic & Chicago Symphony), Tadeu Coelho (Miyazawa Performing Artist) and others In addition to her extensive teaching and performing experience and training Maria is also a board certified Music Therapist with a degree from CSU Northridge
