I have been playing the bass guitar for 22 years. I have played for Jazz Bands, Big Bands, Quartets, and Churches. The songs that I have played range from Jazz, Straight Jazz, Latin, R&B, and Blues. I played Music in High School and in College. Though I am more comfortable with the bass guitar, I can also play and teach lead guitar as well. I have been playing the lead guitar for 12 years. I have taught many beginner students how to play both bass and guitar throughout my music career. Many have moved on to become professional bass players. I enjoy teaching people how to play - playing is what I love and teaching others to be able to play like me or better is a passion of mine. I strongly believe that if you are willing to learn you will be a successful guitarist once our lessons are over. I look forward to teaching you how to play. *** Lesson Details *** I am a patient, friendly, and laid back individual who believes that learning to play music is built on a desire to learn the basics first. For beginners, I tend to teach basic techniques such as proper fingering positions, finger strength exercises, and chords through simple songs to get the student familiar with their bass guitar or lead guitar. This can only be done through good communication, honesty, open mindedness, and most importantly the desire to learn and have fun. Each student can be assured that after this class, he/she will be able to play scales, chords, and songs that will make them sound like professionals. *** Studio Equipment *** The In-Studio lessons would be in the living room area which includes seating. No pets. Amplifier, Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar. The student is expected to provide his or her own instrument. *** Travel Equipment *** The student is expected to provide his or her own instrument and amplifier. *** Specialties *** Basic techniques - chords, scales, fingering, strength exercises Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Funk
