About Lily M.
Hi! My name is Lily and I can't wait to teach you music! I've been teaching private lessons since 1999 and have loved helping my students learn how to play their instruments proficiently, read music, and have a good understanding of music theory while having a fun experience every time.
I currently attend San Diego State University and am majoring in Music with and emphasis in Classical Voice Performance and after obtaining my degree in 2016, I will then continue into the Masters Music Theory Program. I also write for a local music magazine and interview many local musicians.
I'm an energetic and easy going person and my teaching style is fun, structured, encouraging, and motivating. I have had a lot of luck over the years with students of all ages, but especially with children. I've have also had the joy of introducing piano to autistic children and teaching them how to play and read music.
I like to make lessons fun and I love seeing the smiles on my student's faces when they have accomplished a song. Every parent receives a full report on how their young musician is progressing and what they need to work on for our next lesson.
I look forward to meeting you and helping your child or you reach your goals as a musician! You are never to old to pick up and instrument, so why not start today?
All of my lessons are catered to the learning style of the student. I teach a wide variety of classical, pop, movie, and musical theater repertoire for all of the instruments I teach.
