    About Liesl M.

Currently, I offer private voice lessons for everything from sacred music to rock and roll style songs to classical and opera. I find this diversity of work to be a stimulating and exciting exploration of not only the students’ musical skills, but to expand my own “bag-of-tricks” as a music educator. My students range from ages 5 to 75 and we all have tons of fun making music! Music is a gateway to the soul, and part of what builds into their own self-identity. I currently serve as the music director for the adult choir and children’s programs at a Lutheran Church in California. My music degrees from Westminster Choir College and San Francisco State University have helped me grow as a vocal soloist and professional performer as well as an educator. I have been a featured artist at many concerts and events around Northern California, and have performed with many of the area’s opera companies, such as Pocket Opera and Island City Opera. Education is important to me, and although I have my Master of Music in voice teaching and performance, I often attend workshops, trainings, and other continuing education programs so that my students can receive the best training I can offer. I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
