    About Lexi S.

Academia: I was valedictorian of my high school, and went on to graduate Phi Beta Kappa with a BS in both Neuroscience and Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin in 2011. I then started tutoring most major subjects, with a focus on ACT and SAT standardized test prep. I mentored "at-risk" high school students in a variety of courses during an after school program. As a tutor, I focus on helping students to truly understand the material, rather than simply memorize it. If a student doesn't get it the first time, I will always work to explain it in different ways until they understand. Music: I've been running bands for over 10 years, and nationally touring myself for the past 5 as either a bassist or drummer. My music has been played on hundreds of radio stations across the country, and is licensed to most major TV networks including MTV, VH1, E!, and FOX. I grew up studying cello, music theory, and choir so I can teach technical and theoretical skills as well as practical rock/funk/blues/pop composition skills. I have a full studio set up in my home, so students will be able to jam live with rhythm section accompaniment, which is vital to their development. Recording sessions will be available at a discounted rate to all students. If you're the type that's serious about working towards a music career, I can help mentor you in performance, management, and branding.
