    Lena N. has taught private lessons to students of many ages and backgrounds since 2002. She has three years of experience designing and teaching courses in composition, orchestration/arranging, and notation/computer engraving software to undergraduate and graduate students at the prestigious Eastman School of Music, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in composition. Lena holds an MA in composition from Eastman and a BM in composition from the University of Michigan. She also has extensive experience in world music and ethnomusicology, and has studied in Indonesia, India, and Korea as well as in the USA. She has played clarinet for 18 years. As a teacher, Lena prides herself on being flexible, adaptable, and open-minded. She enjoys private tutoring because it allows her to focus on each student's unique goals and needs and to tailor her teaching methods to the approach that works best for each individual.
