My commitment to you is to help you find your musical potential and exceed your goals while enjoying every minute of it. I will encourage you to learn at your pace, and we will quickly define your goals and formulate a plan together to reach them. I have a lot of experience working with children, teens and adults with music. My musical education started at age 9 with weekly violin lessons, which continued until my parents finally gave in and let me play the clarinet 3 years later. Everyone has to start somewhere. In high school, I was introduced to the saxophone, which would become my primary instrument throughout my life. I have played music and coached other musicians for many years. My musical education over the last decade has been with a well renowned woodwind artist in Central PA, Mr. Tim Price. What I've learned from him regarding teaching and playing music has been invaluable. Currently, I perform with blues bands throughout the Delaware Valley, as well as my own jazz ensemble. I am an often requested sit in with many bands, and have done recording for cds and movie soundtracks. I will customize a lesson plan to get you where you want to go. I can also give you opportunities to play along side myself in a performance situation, should you desire it. *** Lesson Details *** My goal with lessons is to make sure you have FUN and make you WANT to practice each and every day. For beginning students, you or your child with start with: Proper posture, breath support, (breathing from the diaphragm with wind instruments is the KEY), and care of your instrument. I will also make sure that your instrument is in proper working order, and can perform light repairs, or recommend a good technician for you to see. You will learn scales and easy songs and I ENCOURAGE YOU to pick songs you want to play and practice. I will support what you are learning in school band or orchestra, and help you practice for best results for your concerts. We will record select lessons so that you can hear yourself performing. I will recommend artists and songs to listen to that will help you understand your lessons even better As the student progresses, we will begin to experiment with different musical styles to see what interests you. For more advanced and intermediate students, we will focus on your basics first, then move on to what will help you in becoming the musician you want to be. *** Studio Equipment *** A relaxed and comfortable environment, recording equipment for playback of important exercises. *** Travel Equipment *** Students should have their own horn, mouthpiece, reeds. *** Specialties *** Blues, Jazz, Classical, Big Band, Band, Orchestra, String Band

Fantastic Teacher! Taking saxophone lessons with Larry has been awesome! I had zero experience playing the saxophone before I met Larry and he's already got me playing a couple different songs after just 3 lessons!!! He's very encouraging, soft spoken, friendly and his studio is very clean. Highly recommend!

Just what I needed...... Larry is great! He makes an assessment of student goals, then helps achieve them! He is patient, with the right amount of push that I was looking for. I look sooo forward to my lessons and have gone farther in 3 weeks than I would have imagined.
