Students can expect undivided attention from me as an instructor. Having hated to take lessons myself, I understand the concerns of the student, and will make lessons fun, enjoyable, and motivating. I believe this is vital to maintaining the student's interest. Although I consider myself a laid back person, taking up piano lessons requires discipline, and this will be enforced accordingly. For students taking piano lessons for the first time, I will incorporate the Alfred Basic Piano Library

books. After 3 to 6 months, the fundamentals of playing piano will be learned, such as reading notes, finding notes on the keyboard, and using these skills to play pieces. For intermediate to advanced players, further techniques will be explored, as well as going beyond what is written on the page to increase musical creativity.
My number one goal for students is to build patience and musical skills to make piano playing truly enjoyable. I understand the challenges and frustrations learning the piano requires, and thus believe that making this process fun is critical, not only for the student's learning, but also for his or her interest.

my musical experiences were in high school. I have studied with Professor Laurent Boukobza, a Steinway artist, in the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory Preparatory Program. I was the principal pianist in the Symphony Orchestra, and was fortunate to travel to New York City and played at the famous Carnegie Hall. I won an inaugural concerto competition, and played Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.2 as the concert's featured soloist. I was the section leader of two choirs, Concert Choir and Men's Chorus, and often was the accompanist during concerts. Other experiences include playing piano for show choirs, musicals such as West Side Story, and in churches. I am also a prizewinner in several piano competitions, including the Advanced Buckeye Piano Competition and Ohio Music Teacher's Association Piano Competition. I started playing piano at the age of six.
