I'm a drummer 29 year old who has been playing percussion for almost 20 years. I play drum set, marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, congas, timpani, piano, and every percussion toy you can think of. I've done everything from wind ensembles, marching band, drum corp, drum lines, jazz bands, jazz trios, reggae bands, funk bands, blues bands, metal, and rock bands. I do studio drum work, fill in drum work, co writing, and drum teching. I've studied with professional drummers and still do, I'm never done learning! *** Lesson Details *** I have a laid back, full of energy, style of teaching. One of my favorite things to do is get my students playing a drum beats and reading drum music in the first 30 mins. Show them that drumming is fun and not as hard as they might have thought. Once I get students playing and reading music, we will dive right into any style music, songs students want to learn, different techniques, and drum turning. I use 16 different drum books to teach out of based on each student. With my more advanced students, I like to work on ear training, so they can start to figure out songs without any written sheet music. In my 20 years of percussion, not one of my teachers has given up on me and I plan to never give up on any of my students. I will get you to play the drums. I have back ups for everything the students if they forget or don't have the need equipment. *** Specialties *** I've been jazz trained for most of the years I've played. I teach traditional and match grips. I teach both moeller drum technique, gruber technique, and drum corp technique. I specialize in Jazz, Rock, Metal, Pop, Country, and Hip-Hop. But I can teach and sit in any style.
