Hello Students! My name is Kelly and I'm a professional music producer, composer, and arranger. I'm an honors graduate of Berklee College of Music where I majored in Contemporary Writing and Production as well as Music Business Management. I've been a voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy since 2012 and been featured in various producer showcases including iStandard's Producer Showcase. I specialize in pop/urban genres as well as scoring to picture. My production and composition experience ranges from working with major labels, independent artists, jingle houses, ad agencies, and filmmakers. I've been fortunate enough to work with clients from Making the Band, The Voice, and X Factor. My music has served as underscores for national commercial spots including Lance Crackers and various online advertisements. *** Lessons Will Include *** ~How to create styles such as Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B and Electronic ~Tips and tricks professionals use in everyday music production ~How to replicate the sounds of today's favorite artists and producers, or create a personal style ~Basic piano and keyboard skills ~Ear training: hearing pitches, intervals, chords, and rhythms ~Building chord progressions, melodies, and bass lines ~Music notation, transcription, and orchestration ~How to create or modify a sound ~How to use pitch correction (melodyne and autotune) ~Sound design: how to make sounds using layering, cutting and sampling ~Form & style: when to drop the bass, when to breakdown, etc. ~Basic structure of top 40 tracks ~Legal aspects: licensing, publishing, copyrights, contracts, deals and agreements ~Business acquisition and tips on how to monetize from music production, composition, and songwriting I have a real passion for teaching and mentoring.
