I started my music journey at New England Conservatory of Music taking voice lessons with Afrika Hayes. I then studied piano and music theory at Berklee College of Music. After that, I received my bachelors and masters in vocal performance at The Boston Conservatory of Music with Grace Hunter, and Iride Pilla. As part of my graduate program in voice, I studied voice therapy with David Blair McClosky and conducting with Attilio Polo. My education to be a music teacher is from the best schools in the country. This education is combined with my love for helping my students achieve their goals. Many of my students have gone on to Broadway, Opera, prestigious universities, or to become college professors themselves. I have used this vast education to sing on National Public Radio, and record two CD's. One CD premiered in Ireland on several radio stations. I have experience teaching voice at Point Park University, Robert Morris University with a Concert Choir, and conducted "Into The Woods" at Duquesne University. I have taught all levels K-12 in Boston and Pittsburgh. I have seen beginners to professionals and have been able to help them all. This is truly my passion and has been life for the past 35 years. I look forward to meeting new students and helping them achieve their goals!! *** Lesson Details *** My approach varies amongst each individual. Some students are just interested in singing better, while others want to become professionals. I always ask my students what their goals are on the first lesson. This allows me to customize a plan tailored for each individual. With my education in voice and voice therapy, my students can be assured that their voice will be preserved and they will be able to sing for their whole life. I teach my students how to properly use their voice, no matter what genre of music. I use a variety of methods in particular the Bel Canto method (Beautiful Singing). After a few months my students typically see an improvement in breath support, projection, range, posture, and confidence. They will have learned a variety of repertoire which they can practice on their own between lessons. *** Specialties *** Opera, musical theatre, sacred music, traditional music.
