I am experienced in helping students of all ages and skill levels to work towards their own personal goals. Whether it be piano, voice, theory or a combination of all three- I strive to help each student achieve his/her best work! I hold a Masters in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy (1 on 1 teaching) from Northern Illinois University and Bachelors degrees in both Voice and Theatre from Millikin University. I began teaching during undergraduate and grad school, and have been teaching and performing actively in the Chicagoland area since finishing my Masters in 2008. With all lesson types, we begin our work together by talking about your personal goals for study. This allows me to tailor my approach to best suit what each student hopes to get out of their time. Purchasing a binder or folder for music is recommended. We can discuss potential music books to purchase if desired. We will begin the first lesson with discussion of goals, then assessing current vocal development and selection of a first piece to work on during lessons. Piano Lessons: If you have already begun piano studies, we can continue out of the method books you are accustomed to using. Students just beginning their piano journey?
