My name is Julian Beutel and I’m a recent graduate of the California Institute of the Arts’ Master’s Music program, specializing in trumpet, composition, and electronic music. I am active regularly performing trumpet with classical, jazz, and rock groups at venues like The Troubadour, The Bootleg, Hotel Cafe, El Cid, The Mint, Levitt Pavilion, Harvard and Stone, Villain’s Tavern, Sassafras Saloon, Los Globos, and The Curved Line Space. As a composer/producer, I write music for my own jazz ensembles as well as soundtracks for animation, film, and video games. Trumpet lessons will be focused on building and developing proper technique through whichever genre is of interest to them. Topics can include classical solo literature, orchestral excerpts, improvisation, and latin music among others. Lessons can also be focused on workshopping students’ compositions, or learning audio software such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, or Pro Tools.
