    About Joy E.

Hello! My name is Joy and I look forward to meeting you! One of my greatest joys in life is to share the gift of music through teaching and see my students flourishing! A little about me...My passion for music began vocally in Texas Girls' Choir and then exponentially grew as I added the piano which culminated in a degree in Music and my life's career as a Worship Leader for many churches. Alll together I have been playing and singing for over 30 years! Professionally, I have served as Worship Leader in multiple states (TX, FL, CO, AR). I've also served as Children's Director, Youth Director's Wife, and most recently a Church Planter/Pastor's Wife for the past 6 years. I have enjoyed seeing firsthand how music has the ability to touch the heart and inspire the soul. In addition to my musical career, I am a Homeschool Mom and Foster Parent and therefore have a huge heart for training children to flourish in their God-given talents. An example of this is that in 2009, I founded and directed a city-wide Children's Choir called "Joyful Sound Children's Choir"...filled with fun, hand-on activities teaching children sight-reading, ear training, as well as singing in harmony and parts. During that time, I also taught students piano ranging in ages from Beginner 3 yrs to Intermediate 16 yr olds. I've been teaching private lessons since then and have enjoyed helping my students develop a joy in learning how to sightread music and bringing music to life through technique and expression. I believe lessons should be encouraging, fun, goal-oriented, and rewarding. I have always enjoyed the challenge of customizing lessons to engage children and youth right where they are! Some of my awards along the way include: * "Most Likely to Succeed" HS Graduating Class * "Most Likely To Succeed" Freshman College Class * Top Music Scholarship College * Top in class for Sight reading & Ear Training * Highest award at solo competitions culminating in the top award "Overall Best Singer" in area competition. *President HS and MS Choirs I enjoy teaching children as well as adult beginner/intermediate students. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better and I look very forward to meeting you! I am committed to creating a positive and rewarding experience for my students. I would be honored to be apart of your music journey and help you reach your personal goals! Music makes the world a brighter place!

    Joyful Sound Children's Choir

I have a big heart to see children flourish in their God-given talents. As a proud alumni of Texas Girls' Choir, I founded and directed a city-wide Children's Choir, modeled after TGC, called "Joyful Sound Children's Choir"...filled with fun, hands-on activities teaching children sight reading, ear training, as well as singing in harmony and parts. Our performances featured a live band, fresh choreography, narration and singing solos for every child ages 3-6th grade. We had a blast!
