I have been having a blast while teaching students these last 5 years. I have had the pleasure of teaching many students to play their guitar! Learning to play the guitar can be fun and very fulfilling! If you have always wanted to play, I can make your dream come true! I have been playing for over 40 years and have played professionally for over 25 years. I teach you how to play by using the genre that you like and give you the basics and fundamentals for playing what ever you like. It is important to enjoy the time you spend taking lessons and playing. It should be fun and entertaining as well. It will never be boring taking lessons with me. I also have videos and backing tracks, plus PDF music on my website that will be available to you while you are taking lessons. This will be exceptionally helpful when you are at your house and need to refresh yourself on what took place at lessons that week. *** Lesson Details *** I am very laid back in my teaching method! These lessons are about teaching you to enjoy playing. And as soon as possible! You should be able to play a 4 chord song the first lesson! It is a simple 2 finger chord song but it will give you the satisfaction that you can play immediately! I use the CAGED System to teach with at first. You will learn the basic open chords and songs that correlate to the chords you are learning. If you will do what I ask you to do at the house during the week, you should be able to play songs within the first 3-6 months, and play along with others. I take a group of students once a month to the nursing homes and play. Which gives the students exposure to playing in front of somebody in a group and how to play with other musicians as well. *** Studio Equipment *** In my studio we have the ability to record your lessons via video and also to record you playing with my recording software. I also have an amp and foot pedal to work with so when we are doing different genres you can get familiar with using a foot pedal and work with the sounds of the pedal and adjust the amp settings. Also working with song writing and composition we can tab guitar music, write it in Band In The Box, record songs that you have written! *** Travel Equipment *** When I come to your home to teach I normally use an acoustic guitar only. I will either have my laptop with me or printed material for us to work with. *** Specialties *** Basic learning method for guitar and mandolin. Learn the basic chords, transitions. And then the strumming/picking, basic scales and putting it all together. Install the basic theory for chords and chord families as we go. I teach basic theory along with learning the chords, songs and scales. Genres I like are Blues, Country, Classic Rock, Gospel, Bluegrass
