Violin with Jordan J.

Originally from Glen Burnie, Maryland, violinist Jordan J. has been playing violin since the age of nine. His first teachers included Ms. Kate Harvey, a M.M. Viola Performance graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, and Teo Tetel, a former teacher at the Peabody Institute. His intensive work with Mr. Tetel eventually led to a year of orchestral performance with the Peabody Youth Orchestra and acceptance to the University Of Maryland College Park School Of Music. At Maryland, Mr. J. spent three years under the tutelage of Dr. Gerald Fischbach, and a year with Dr. James Stern after Dr. Fischbach’s retirement in 2013. In addition to performing locally in the Baltimore, College Park, and Washington areas, Mr. J. holds a private violin studio at Music & Arts Oxon Hill and teaches in-home private lessons. Mr. J. also works at Gailes’ Violin Shop, where he explores violin maintenance and repair with shop owner Bill Gailes.
