The 10 hour workout was just what I put in the magazine at the time, but for me it was every waking moment.” ~ Steve Vai‎ To Steve, it was the music that gave him great joy. Simply put, he played because he loved it. This is my goal as a teacher: to show people that music takes time, it takes determination, it takes passion, and most importantly, it’s really fun! It can be an expression of who you are. “The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.” ~ B.B. King “Every time you pick up your guitar to play, play as if it’s the last time.” ~ Eric Clapton This is a journey I have been on for 13 years. A journey that has involved studying many genres, including flamenco in Spain; playing in bands from French jazz to bluegrass to rock; and teaching all different ages and levels. To be honest, I don’t have it all figured out. In the five years of teaching through 4/4 school of music, I have learned just as much from my students as they have from me.
