I am a classically trained pianist, with over 10 years of experience. I perform jazz, classical, pop, folk, and other genres. In addition, I play keyboard in a local rock band. I teach a wide range of piano techniques, including sight reading, finger exercises, classical, and jazz improvisation. I also have a solid repertoire of rhythm training, aural theory, diatonic and chromatic harmony, and music history. *** Lesson Details *** My teaching style is structured and molded based on your needs as a student pianist. I keep things fun, yet challenging. Conquering challenge yields progress, and therefore it must be emphasized. However, I want to make things fun and interesting for you as well. Above all, music is supposed to be enjoyable. I teach all age groups, and all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. After 3 to 6 months of lessons combined with at-home practice, you will notice your skills in every aspect of music increase. Whether you're a fast or a slow learner, and no matter how much experience you have, you will gain the skills necessary to play the piano confidently, any time, and in any situation. *** Studio Equipment *** I own a Kurzweil 88-key digital piano for teaching. It's keys feel the same as a real piano, and it's dynamics are also top shelf. Has sustain and damper pedals. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide sheet music.
