I recently moved to Chicago to complete my dissertation for Arizona State University's Doctorate program. During my 6 years at ASU I taught voice lessons privately and at the collegiate level in Phoenix. I have taught almost every type of singing style at every age and professional level; Classical, Opera, Musical Theater, R&B, Folk, Reggae, from professional musicians to enthusiastic people who want a new hobby. I am an active opera singer looking to make Chicago my new home base. Everyone can do it. But if you want to be good at it you had better work! I create a supportive and kind atmosphere in my studio. It is a safe place where mistakes are precious learning moments and perfection is strived for but never accomplished. I base my analogies on the physiological realities of singing but I use my student's own perceptions of the sound to individually reach my students on their own level.
