    About Joel Henry S.

    Hi, there! My name is Joel and I can't wait to teach you how to play music! I've been teaching private lessons to adults and children for nearly 25 years, and have loved helping my students become proficient on piano, guitar, percussion and also become great composers, songwriters, and all-around fantastic musicians. I have a PhD in music from UCLA. I tailor all of my lessons to the individual, so I have no set-in-stone formula. Lessons with me are always fun, challenging, and skill-building. With a bit of discipline and dedication on your part, I make sure you progress quickly so you see fast and exhilarating results that will be gratifying for the rest of your life! I can also teach lessons in Spanish. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

From playing piano at Nordstrom to touring nationwide as a guitarist for the Three Irish Tenors and scoring soundtracks for Discovery Channel documentaries, I've been deeply entrenched in making music for a living since I was in high school. I've recorded 5 solo albums of original folk-rock songs, and I've produced numerous other artists in the recording studio.
