In addition to the clarinet, he enjoys opera, weight lifting, Joss Whedon, Dr. Who, the culinary arts, and roller coasters. *** Lesson Details *** Members of my studio are always at the top of their game. With a mix of challenging material, effective practice techniques, and a great deal of fun, I push my students to help create their own musical paths. For beginners, I equally emphasize fundamental pedagogy, music theory, and artistry, in a variety of musical styles. They learn correct breath control, posture, and sound production to facilitate good habits to last a life time. After 6 months, my students have always improved 10-fold, exhibiting confidence on performing, self-evaluation, and independent musical discovery. *** Studio Equipment *** Music room equipped with music stand, keyboard, instrument stands, metronome/tuner, computer for recording and listening, and other resources. *** Travel Equipment *** I provide my instrument and certain copies of exercises. Voice students must have a keyboard or piano. *** Specialties *** Gordon method-sound before sight, learning to hear music and create a beautiful sound and using reading and theory skills to enhance musical growth.
