Jennifer has a Bachelor's Degree in Music in piano studies from Kent State University. She has been teaching children from age five to adult for over eleven years. She desires to help students learn about music and learn how to make the most of those 88 keys. Previously Jennifer has worked at Long Lake Camp for the Arts as a private piano instructor. She has successfully run her piano studio along with aiding several other music studios teaching dozens of students from various backgrounds. *** Lesson Details *** My commitment is to inspire people of all ages and skill levels to learn more about music. I aspire to help every student to achieve their individual goals through our lessons. Whether you are a beginner or advanced pianist I can motivate you to succeed at a higher skill level. I welcome any age students, encouraging young musicians as well as adults of all backgrounds to excel on this beautiful instrument. My lessons focus on classical studies; however I am trained and well versed in jazz and popular tunes as well. My teaching style concentrates on performance yet integrates music theory along with sight reading and aural skills to produce exceptionally well rounded musicians. I find it crucial to allow lessons to change based on age, skill and interest while monitoring progress on a weekly basis to secure your investment. *** Studio Equipment *** When you first walk up to the residence, the music studio is to the left of the main house. The studio features two large front windows easily visible from the street with vaulted ceiling for excellent reverberation of sounds. The piano is rebuilt baby grand piano. Chairs are provided for families who choose to observe the lessons. The studio also has an aquarium, several lego sets, puzzles and crayons with paper for which to help occupy siblings. *** Travel Equipment *** Students are expected to have access to a piano (or keyboard) on which to practice. *** Specialties *** Baritone/Euphonium I prefer the Faber and Faber series for beginner piano teaching. I also have used the Alfred music theory game tools.
