About Me

Jennifer holds a BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music and is a proud member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing). She has worked as a professional singer/dancer/actress/teacher for over 20 years.

Jennifer's studies and performance experience cover a wide range of vocal styles. Her very first voice teacher was world renowned, Helen Boatwright, who gave her the classical foundation that has remained her vocal support system to this day. Jennifer also had the ... distinct pleasure of studying with the great Diana Spradling at Syracuse University. At The Boston Conservatory, she continued her training with Walter Boyce and Robert Honeysucker both of whom furthered her grasp of classical technique and its application to all singing no matter what the style.

Jennifer enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities. She prides herself on her ability to help her students apply the beauty of emotion to their music.

Jennifer has performed extensively throughout the United States as well as internationally. She has enjoyed lead roles in such shows as "Evita", "Fame", "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" , "Nunsense", "Little shop of Horrors", "La Cage Aux Folles", "Celebration", "The Songs Of Andrew Lloyd Webber", "Gypsy", "Grease", "Jerry's Girls", "Respect", Forbidden Christmas etc; Jennifer has been featured at Radio City Music Hall as well as with Taylor Dayne in "Archy and Mehitibel". Jennifer also wrote and co-produced, "A Woman, a Fabulous Dress and Some Songs", which she performed extensively throughout New England. She has also worked extensively as a featured vocalist in corporate industrials for such clients as, Dupont, Abbott Pharmaceutical, Uniroyal-Goodyear, OPEC, AT&T and Ford Motor Company.

Lesson Details

I love teaching and am extremely patient and understanding as well as motivating and goal oriented. I begin my lessons with 10 to 15 minutes of vocal scales and breathing exercises. I then move to learning (or fine tuning) a piece of music at the piano. Theory is taught as we are learning. I believe that an intelligent singer should be able to understand, at minimum, the basics of reading music. Theory is taught at an age appropriate level. When a song is ready to be performed, I use a music ... track, so that I can focus on the singer versus playing the piano. I have a very open relationship with my students and do my best to help them meet and exceed their personal goals. I like to work on a wide variety of music from, Musical Theatre, Pop, Classical, Jazz, Rock etc. I have had hit shows in Las Vegas, Houston, Dallas, etc. over the years and have auditioned thousands of people. I am excellent at helping my students not only sing properly but achieve a level of connection to the music that engages the listener and gets them the job. Students will build a vocal repetoire /audition book that they can utilize throughout their studies as well as their musical career.
