Violin with Jennifer D.

Jennifer D., 17, has been studying piano with Sofia Zukerman for fourteen years. Throughout her years of piano study, Jennifer has participated in numerous recitals and competitions. She is a 2014 Panel finalist, a Panel Regional and Panel finals winner, and performed at the Music Teacher’s Association of California Convention in Los Angeles in June of 2014 at Dr. Dmitry Rachmannof’s Master Class. She is a recipient of the highly prestigious Young Musician’s Foundation Scholarship and the prominent Barbership Scholarship. Jennifer is a 10-year national winner of the National Piano Guild Auditions and a High School Diploma Recipient with a perfect score earned in her junior year, and a winner of the Paderewski Medal. She passed level Advanced of Certificate of Merit in the tenth grade and received an exemption from the theory exam. Jennifer was recipient of the Gold Medals at the Orange County Branch Contemporary and Classical Festivals in 2010 and 2011, the First Place Winner at the California Association of Professional Music Teachers, Sonata Festival, Advanced Division in 2012, the First Place Winner at the Musical Arts Club Auditions in 2004, 2006, 2010, and 2014, Branch and Regional Bach Festival Winner in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013, Regional Panel Winner in 2012, and Winner in Open and Young Pianist Divisions of the Southwestern Youth Music Festival in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2013. Jennifer has also won the Bronze Medal at the Bach Complete Works Audition, Honorable Mention at the Music Teachers National Association California State Senior Competition and Second Place and audience’s choice at the Classical Encounters Young Talent Concert. She performed at the Nixon Library as the Winner of Musical Arts Club Auditions in 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014. Jennifer also received a Senior Medallion, Senior Scholarship and Music Scholarship from the Music Teachers Association of California Orange Branch. She has performed in master classes for Dr. Lidia Boguslavsky, Dr. Jack Winerock, Dr. Fei Xu, Dr. Scott McBride Smith, and Dr. Leonard Richter. In the summers of 2012 and 2013 Jennifer attended the International Institute for Young Musicians at the University of Kansas. Jennifer plays violin and has taken violin lessons with Joanne Ausmus Baker since she was seven years old. Jennifer is a graduate of Esperanza High School. In August she will start university as piano performance major studying under the highly esteemed Eduardo Delgado at the California State University of Fullerton.
