I am very familiar with playing and teaching many different styles of music. Although my main area of interest is rock and roll/heavy metal, I play blues, pop, world music, jazz, and classical as well.

Lesson Details

My style of teaching is very laid-back. I think the first and most important aspect of lessons is that the student has fun and enjoys playing their instrument. In my experience if the student doesn't enjoy playing, there is little hope of progressing. However, I do expect my students to practice the homework I assign, and keep up with the curriculum I provide. When taking lessons, you can expect to get only as much as you give; so students who practice their lessons and homework regularly are ... much more likely to excel faster.

I began playing guitar around ten years ago, and was fortunate enough to be able to take lessons from some of the most respected guitar players in the Tampa Bay area. Through these lessons I was able to learn all different aspects of guitar playing and musicianship, music theory, as well as what it takes to create fun, interesting, and beneficial ways to progress with the instrument,. Four years ago I began teaching lessons privately. My main focus is on making the lessons fun and interesting ... for the student by first discussing them what they would like to get out of our lessons together. I then tailor my lesson plans around the student's strengths and interests to make it more exciting and invigorating for us both.
