I've been playing Piano for over 15 years and across all the different genres. My main specialty is playing Jazz and Rock piano. I am also a Music Theory nerd and love exploring why things work in music. I currently am in my final year to get my Jazz Performance BA at Mira Costa College. Next year I am going to transfer to SDSU to major in Music Education. Teaching is the only passion I have that rivals music. I want to teach you to make music! I want to teach you to perform! I can teach you whether you are an advanced pianist wanting to learn how to play some jazz, or a complete newbie who doesn't even know what or where middle C is. My teaching method will not only have you learning mechanically how to play, but I incorporate theory into my lessons so you will start having a base of knowledge about music. I teach all ages, and tailor each lesson individually to each student. Give me a try and find out how fun it can be to learn to play!

My 4th grade daughter wanted to play the piano for the school talent show. She never had a lesson before and in approximately 3 months Jason had her playing warm ups, reading notes, understanding concepts and playing songs. We would listen to the lessons from the other room and were amazed at how fast they progressed. We used a key board for lessons and she insisted on a playing the school piano for the show. Her performance on the Piano at school was a hit and the transition from keyboard to piano worked for our purpose. Jason is a terrific music teacher and has become a dear friend. He is a perfect teacher for beginners!
