I began my music education on low brass in middle school, giving me the theory primer to move on to my next instruments, electric guitar and bass. After picking up as much as I could on my on, I began attending McLennan Community College's commercial music program. While attending, I performed in various ensembles including the jazz ensemble, excelled in my music courses, won Student of the Year in 2007, and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society. After college I began performing with several groups and artists. These include Kristen Kelly, tribute acts performing Beatles / Elvis / Pink Floyd music, and most recently Austin indie band Blue Bear. I have been teaching guitar and bass from a song-oriented, student driven perspective for the years I've been instructing. My method is based on the idea that every student should have a say in what they learn, as every student has differing tastes and interests.
