I have loved music since I could walk. I began playing piano at age 5, which was an excellent introduction to music for me; I later chose to play the violin, which came to be my main instrument. Throughout middle and high school, I dedicated many hours to practicing and listening to the songs I was learning, both solo and orchestral. I also studied privately with my private teacher, Mr. Guangshu Song in South Florida. I have learned the unique art of violin playing, performing at many orchestra concerts and solo and ensemble competitions, earning Superior ratings. I have played more recently with the Alhambra Orchestra in South Florida and I am committed to sharing my talent and love of music with kids and adults. In addition, I have broadened the horizons of my violin playing to include pop genres and creating written arrangements of film soundtracks for stringed instruments. *** Lesson Details *** I specialize in beginning and intermediate instruction with students of all ages. My students learn how to read music, how to hold and play the violin with proper technique, correct bow hold, accurate rhythm and pitch. They are quickly able to develop their listening skills through the Suzuki method and through fun and interactive exercises. On each lesson I encourage and commend my students when they apply what they learn, and help them to develop confidence in their playing. I encourage memorization, especially of songs that are well-known, so that the student can play for family and friends with confidence. Learning to play the violin well is a rewarding experience that involves determination and hard work. For young musicians, parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's musical growth. If you enjoy music and the challenge of trying new things, you will most likely come to realize you have a talent you didn't know you had. *** Specialties *** My specialty is getting students to improve their tone quickly by effectively telling and showing them how to do it. They hear the results right away.
