Beginner Guitar Lessons
Soar Music School guitar lessons are a great place to start your musical journey.  Our instructors work well with young students and adults, and take pride in teaching guitar.

Curriculum can vary from student to student, but every student is urged to perform and find opportunities to use their talents at church, school, and with their friends.  Soar is application minded, and our students gain priceless knowledge, setting them up to be invaluable parts of a team.

Even beginner students will get the chance to perform on Concert Day.  (If they’re comfortable and ready!)

If you start with beginner lessons, you will be guided through:

Getting to know the guitar
Tuning, and Understanding Amps
Notes on the guitar
Chords on the guitar
Playing full songs
Intermediate to Advanced Guitar Lessons

Once a student is comfortable playing full songs, the next step is to work on playing with other people.  Even if a student never joins a band at Soar, our instructors will be able to play along with each student, helping them understand the dynamic of playing in a band.   Students are also encouraged and taught to sing while playing, perform on stage, and play with other musicians.

There is a Concert Day every three months.  Leading up to Concert Day, students learn new songs, work on their performance, and craft a great show for their families and friends.  Students get to design logos, shirts, and more!

Jacob has been active in the local music scene since he was sixteen. From the start of his first band, he was in charge of everything from booking shows and orchestrating material, to marketing and promotions. Jacob is still very active as a full time musician and audio/lighting engineer. Jacob has taken both voice and guitar lessons for years and has been teaching since 2011!
