    About Jaclyn K.

Jaclyn is an accomplished musician who is active throughout the Arts in Greater Cincinnati. She has recently returned to teaching voice after years of performing. Jaclyn currently offers vocal training for beginning to intermediate singers in a variety of styles. A detailed description of her experience is highlighted below. **Vocal Training** Jaclyn is a professional mezzo-soprano who's career has spanned several genres throughout the United States and Europe. For 11 seasons she has been a resident singer for the Cincinnati Opera in over 30 productions as a member of the core chorus. From traditional grand opera to complex contemporary works her vocal skills are constantly growing as they adapt to each new work assigned. Some of Jaclyn's additional classical voice credits include principle and soloist roles with her alma-mater, Northern Kentucky University, as well as the Sorg and Whitewater Opera companies, Cincinnati May Festival, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria to name a few. Jaclyn's classical vocal training has given her the dexterity to cross into other genres of music. She spent several years performing musical reviews and jazz in dinner theaters and on cruise ships. She was the lead vocalist for Swingtime, a 20 piece big band, with whom she sang for the opening of the Rosemary Clooney Museum. Jaclyn has also performed in musicals with Regional Theatre companies and community groups. In high school and college Jaclyn won several prestigious vocal competitions. Jaclyn believes that traditional vocal training is important to the development of her students. She has a flexible teaching style that combines technique, stage presence, and professionalism while allowing students to focus on a specific musical genre if they choose. She teaches students at beginning and intermediate levels from ages 7 and up. Jaclyn has a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and draws from her education and experience to prepare students for competitions, auditions, and performances.
