San Leandro School District (John Muir Middle School)

Assists lead teacher in a structured special day class with children ages 11 – 13 with ADD, ADHD, ASD, and other exceptional cognitive abilities.

Da Vinci Center for Gifted Children

Instructed musical curricula theory, composition, counterpoint, music history, rhythmic and melodic dictation, and instrumental instruction for gifted children ages 5 – 10. Facilitated collaborative involvement between students and their peers; corresponded with parents and administrators on musical curricula, instructional support, creative development, and presentation expectations. Incorporated musical elements to engage students in research topics, as well as structured musical projects with students to help with academic, social, and behavioral goals.

San Carlos Elementary School District

Helped children ages 9 – 12 with mild to moderate Autism, ADD, and ADHD in mainstream classrooms.

Bulldog Theatre Company (Orinda Intermediate School)

Collaborated with Director on overall production presentation for students ages 11 - 13; taught, modeled, and demonstrated appropriate acting techniques, stage directions, and rehearsal etiquette. Encouraged artistic teamwork between students and their peers. Assisted youth with operating technical equipment (spot lights, light board, sound board, and stage management).

Worthy Music Services

Provides private and small group musical instruction in piano, guitar, and percussion for children ages 2 – 10; utilizes music as a therapeutic tool for those with ADD, ADHD, and ASD, as well as an enrichment activity for typical students. Incorporates hands-on, playful, practical activities to promote rhythmic and tonal awareness. Utilizes AMTA (American Music Therapists Association) standards for professional protocol as well as to promote positive academic, social, and behavioral skills.

Opus Q (Berkeley, CA)

Supported Director with choral rehearsals, with a focus on choral techniques, and etiquette. Assisted singers with breath mark, aural placement, musical dynamic, and note indications. Facilitated sectional work with singers and accompanist.

Mercy Retirement and Care Center (Oakland, CA)

Led group sing-along and guided interactive music therapy activities for senior citizens with varying degrees of cognitive awareness. Engaged with patients in musical enrichment exercises including drum use for rhythmic entertainment and guitar for melodic interpretation.
